This does not answer your question but may help. In the Hopkins book The Kelloggs In The New World on page 357 it lists Daniel Kellogg and Polly Childs 5 children and one of them was named Samuel Weed Kellogg bap. 7 Apr., 1807; m. Dolly Emeline Jewell. So it sounds like there are some weeds in the family and probably were on Polly's side.

In the index to the hopkins book more than 20 Weed's are listed (page 2289) including a Nathan Weed of Stamford who wed, 16 Oct. 1750, as his second wife Judith (Raymond) Kellogg the widow of David Kellogg. see page 86
