Ok, Gabriel born 1755 in Botetourt married Mary Anderson would have been about the right age - Did he own land in VA and NC in the late 1700's and early 1800's?
BTW - on some legal documents John Allen is referred to as "John of Ivy" - Gabrael Keith was the Grantor on two pieces of property that were recorded 8/8/1819 - one for 100 acres on Ivy River and the other for 300 acres.
As early as 1797 he is the Grantor in over 15 various land transactions (on Ivy, Gabriels Creek, Walnut Mountain and Laurel River) with the State of NC, John Strother, James Rickey, Stephen Palmer and James Ramsey - Who might this Gabrael Keith be?
