The William KEITH I told you about, son of Roswell KEITH, is shown in this census listing:
1870 census, DeKalb Co., TN
Ross KEITH 50 M TN
Mary 87 F TN
Martha 21 F TN

Nancy 12 F TN
Thomas 11 M TN
John 10 M TN
William 7 M TN
Neroy (twin) 7 F TN

This is the only William KEITH I could find in census records, of the right age and in Tennessee, to be your target.
I can not locate this family in the 1880 census, nor can I find another William KEITH who would be about 17 at the time. In addition, back in 1999 it was reported to me that Austin L. KEITH had 3 additional children that I had not previously heard of Emmaline, Polly and a William Jefferson (b. ca 1861). This I have not been able to confirm from records, so I do not wish to state it as fact. Even so, the appearance of William Jefferson KEITH in Gonzales Co., TX in later times suggest he is very possibly Austin's son.
