I am searching for my tribe. I was told it was Sioux but can't seem to prove it. The surname would be Griffin. My GGGGrandfather was Gordon Griffin who was born in Virginia circa 1755. He had a brother William and a sister Isabella. The story goes that his ancesters (don't know how far back) came to that area after getting involved with a chief's daughter (don't know if there were any marriages but there sure were children). I have pictures of some of my relatives including my Grandmother and there is no denying it. My GGGGrandfather Gordon, mentioned above, married Katherine Kessinger and one of their children was Susannah Griffin who married John Shultz. The picture of her GrGrGranddaughter is a definite give-away feature wise. My GrGrGrandfather was Andrew Griffin, son of Gordon. If anyone knows anything about these names please e-mail me at rjett@zoomnet.net. I am desperate to find out my "roots". I believe everyone should know "who they are and where they came from"! I would be proud to be able to prove I am part of that heritage.
