Israel Cronkwright is shown on the 1870 census as head of household in Oakland, Highland Michigan. He may be my husband's grgrgrandfather who is said to be of the Iriquois or Mahican tribe from NY state. It is said the family went to Michigan in the early 1800s returning to NY State after the Civil War. Other Cronwright/Cronright/Cronkhite names I am searching for include Ruth, Reuben & George, born around 1836. Any information regarding the location of this family or these tribes in that time period would be greatly appreciated. I have lots of information related to this family in NY state also. Thanks!!!
