Just a shot in the dark, but...I already know my native lines back to 1804 on one side and 1756 on another. BUT...I really don't have much of the family history. I'm searching for information on a prominent family within the Cherokee Nation, at one time, by the name of Woodall. NOTHING is known of my ggg-grandfather George Carruth Woodall. Though he is listed as white (scottish) I have a picture that says otherwise. His wife was Ellen Moore, also known as Ailey, a full blood Cherokee, though at one time she is listed as 3/4 Delaware. This is a family of Old Settlers and are on the Old Settlers Rolls, Guion Miller, and Dawes. If it helps, their son Charles was married to Susannah Watie, daughter of the Cherokee Confederate Brigadeer General Stand Watie, also known as Oowatie. AND, their son, William Coffee, my gg grandfather, was married to Margaret Reese, Stand's cousin.
Also searching for my Lenape (Delaware) Killbuck lines through my great-great grandmother Mary Jane Killbuck, aka Sarah Marker, Sarah Jane Marker. Through her father I have traced her lines back to the Head Chief and supposedly a great holy man by the name of Netawatwees, of the Turtle Clan. There is a book of a captive adopted white daughter by the name of Mary Campbell. If anybody knows where I can get the book Songs of Courage, Songs of Freedom, I would appreciate knowing of it. Problem with this line is that it takes a detour with her, umm..., I believe her great or great great grandfather. He has white last name he is known by. Pye. Also a Chief, but since nothing else is known of him I can't even find his clan affiliation. I DO know that his wife's name was Diadema and I believe her neice by the name of Mah-wah-taise (as close as I can get, don't have my paperwork in front of me.) She and Jane Marker and her husband John are listed on the Dawes Rolls as Delaware. Well, kind of long but any info would be VERY helpful. Thanks.
