I would love to see those probate papers of Hiram, husband of Ellen Coffin. Were did you get them?
I would love dates and places for these people. I also know that one of the boys that died in Andersonville (they both did, didn't they?) had a wife and child and there's a pension record out there for that. I do believe she remarries.
I'm kinda working Hunter & Coffin, just to find clues on Diantha Ellen because she had children with our Peter Case, son of Peter Case, son of Pardon & Elizabeth Corbin.
Ellen Diantha Coffin Hunter (Case?) married John Wells Bagley July 13, 1882. He was a widower and they moved up to Pontiac, Oakland Co., MI by the 1900 census. He died Nov. 4th, 1903. He is buried in Oak Hill in Pontiac.
Ellen Bagley lived until 1919. She is buried in Oak Hil. I have found her grave, but not her third husbands. She is buried near her son Elmer Case, 1871 -1933. He was in Detroit for a while with livery stables near Lincoln, Grand River & Trumble area. Not to far from Tiger Stadium.
At some point he moved north to Oakland Co., and is with his mother Ellen Diantha in Addison Twp. I don't know what happened to his wife and child. But this is the Case family.
I hope this link come through. It's from the State of Mich., library site, Mel.org. They have a "Burton Collection" of older Detroit photos.. I searched Hunter today and came up with this photo. This is of Hiram H. Hunter's home in Detroit, circa 1885.
