For those who have this family in their line:

Constitution, Atlanta, Wednesday, January 3, 1894
MRS. JOHN S. HOLLIDAY DEAD
THE WIFE OF FULTON COUNTY'S DEPUTY
CLERK PASSES AWAY YESTERDAY

Mrs. John S. Holliday Sr, after an illness of several days, passed quietly away at her home on
Forrest Avenue, this city, yesterday morning, at a few minuets after 8 o'clock.
Mrs. Holliday was the wife of Dr John S Holliday, of this city, who, for years, has been identified with the clerk's office in this county. She has been in declining health for quite a while and for several days before the end came, it was evident that her gentle spirit was about to take flight.
As one of the oldest residents of the city, coming to Atlanta with her husband a number of years ago,
Mrs. Holliday was broadly known in this city. Her residence at Forrest Avenue was at all times
the abode of cheer and hospitality and there it was, she reared her children to be usefull men in
the community.
In regard to the life of this good woman much might be written without incurring the charge of excessive eulogy. She was a good neighbor, a true friend, and seemed to take special delight in doing good. In matters of charity, she was discreminating rather than lavish, and gave with a liberality
prompted by her good judgement and apportioned to apparent need.
The neigherhood in which she dwelt and the community in which her good deeds were wrought.
will be sorely afflicted by her sad death.
Her children in Atlanta are Mr George H Holliday, who is ingaged in the lumber business, Dr, Robert
Holliday, the well known dentist, and Mr John S Holliday Jrr., who is a book keeper for Hunnicutt &
Bellinggrath.
The funeral will take place this afternoon at half past 1 from the family residence, corner of Forrest and Piedmont Avenues. The following gentlemen will act as pallbearers:
Judge Howard Van Epps, Judge R. T. Dorsey, Col A. J . McBride,
Mr D. O . Dougherty, Mr W.L. Fain, Judge G. H. Tanner, Dr. Samuel Hape and Mr James E. Dickey.
