Origin of Hollidays

Hello all,

I am very new to genealogy, but I have a very keen interest in it.

In which country did the surname Holliday originate?

I live in walton-on-thames, in Surrey England. I'm 20 years old. My father passed away this year, he is Nigel Holliday, son of Allan Holliday (known as Doc to his friends as I'm sure many Holliday's are!) who is still with us.

I would love to know any interesting facts about the Holliday's, or of any interesting links.
