Judging by the overwhelming response and flood of e mails generated by my last posting it would appear that the Hibbs's in England are in danger of extinction. For anyone who may be interested I have traced back to Thomas & Martha (Fletcher)married in Bakewell, Derbyshire in 1786.There are several family groups in this area(Bradwell,Darley,Hucklow,Rowsley,Winster & Eckington) with dates preceding the American family group started by William(1664)from Dean Forest so linking our American namesakes appears remote.Any input would be appreciated as progress is slow.
