Milton M. "Pete" Hibbs
HIBBS, MILTON M. ''PETE''
Born July 16, 1938 in Orofino, ID. Died at his home in Elk Grove, CA on Nov. 14, 2003 after a long battle and suffering with lung cancer. He was honorably discharged from the Army on Nov. 14, 1958. He will be forever missed by his wife Patti; his son James of Sacramento; his brother Glen and sister-in-law Gail of Kamiah, ID; his brother-in-law Lowell Rugg of Winchester, ID; and 4 nieces. He leaves dear friends he thought of as family and co-workers he considered dear friends. He spent over 40 years in commercial construction working his way from carpenter to management. In his career, among the vast projects he oversaw were schools, hospitals and high-rises. He most recently worked for California State Parks managing historical renovation and construction, a job that he loved. His lifetime of adventures included waterskiing and bull riding, but his greatest passion was fishing. He fished lakes, rivers and the Pacific Ocean from Alaska to Mexico. With the help of friends he made one last trip to Alaska in June 2003. His ashes will be scattered over the Pacific Ocean outside the Golden Gate Bridge. No memorial service is planned at this time. Arrangements by ELK GROVE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 686-1888.
