My information on the Hibbs Family comes from 3 books written by Sylvia Snook. The information in A LIST OF DESCENDANTS 1823-1953 indicates that Jacob Hibbs was born ca.1730 in Bucks County, PA and settled for a time in Louden County, VA before settling in Fayette County, PA where he received a patent for land from the State of PA in 1780. Later he traded this land with his son, Lacey, and moved to Greene County, PA. He married Elizabeth Lacy in 1760 and they had the following children:
1. Lacy, born 1762 (married Sarah Craft)
2, Mary, born December 26, 1764
3. Aaron, born 1766 in Virginia
4. Phoebe, born July 22, 1767 (married John Craft.)
5. Tamar (married Thomas Purdum)
6. Jonah, born in Virginia
7. Phillip (He was in Greene Co. in 1786. He was not shown in the 1790 census and nothing further is known.
