I have 2 Hibbs/Slayton-Slaton-Slaten Marriages in my Hibbs line. One Hibbs I can not identify.
1.Elizabeth Hibbs b.1772(da. of Issac Hibbs and Elizabeth Roberts) married John Slaton in 1791 in Bedford Co. Va. They later moved to Hopkins Co. Kentucky
They had a son name John Jackson Slaton b.1816 in Hopkins Co.Kentucky and moved on to Saline, Illinois.
John Jackson had a daughter -Nancy J.Slaton b.1846 in Gallatin,Illinois that married BENJAMIN HIBBS B.1839 prob. in Kentucky.
2. Benjamin Hibbs & Nancy Slaton married in Illinois in 1866. Children Wendell, Eva,Minnie,Vinnie,Cora,Oscar V. . They moved to Texarkana,Ark -Texas area about 1885.
I HAVE ANCESTORY AND ELIZABETH, BUT CAN LOCATE THE ANCESTORY OF BENJAMIN HIBBS.
I feel he must be related to Eliz. since they were in the same Kentucky-Illinois areas and he married Eliz.s grandaughter Nancy.
Please help if you know this Benjamin Hibbs.
NOTE:Slaton I refer to is also spelled in many was - SLAYTON, SLADDEN, SLATEN, SLAYDEN etc.
