I am part of a group of researchers who are trying to collect info on all men who enlisted in the 23rd WI Infantry. One of our veteran's is Joseph Hewitt, Jr. We need the info for his parents, Joseph & Arathura ? Hewitt & their birth, death & burial data.
We also need his date of marriage to Charlotte Pierce b. 1838 in New York & her parents names, birth, death, burial data and her siblings.
Joseph d. at Milliken's Bend, LA & is buried at Vicksburg Nat'; Cemetery. We need the date of death & burial for Charlot.
If you can help us fill in the blanks we would be grateful
