Ezekiel Hewitt and Elizabeth O'Shields were my great-great Grandparents. Their Daughter, Mary, was my Grandfather's mother. At one time, I had a picture of her. She and her husband, Francis Marion Day, had 15 children, 9 of which survived infancy: Elizabeth, (Lizzie), Born August 1884, Elma, a son, born 1888, Addie, born October 31, 1890, died February 1975, (Married Granby Hayes Jackson), Albert, born 1892, died March 1978, Nannie, born December 1894, Irvin, Born 1896, Bluford (my grandfather) born May 15, 1900, died October 10, 1978, Harvey, born 1903?, and Paul, Born July 18, 1906, died October 29, 1968. When I was a small boy in the 1960's, I met Aunt Addie, and Uncle Paul actually lived on my father's farm for a while during the last years of his life. I know very little about Lizzie and Nannie, as my Grandfather never mentioned them to any of us, and my father only talked about Elma, Addie, Albert, Irvin, and told me that He had heard his father talk some about Harvey. I used to play in the yard while Uncle Paul would keep an eye on me. My Grandfather had 4 children: Francis Marion Day (my father)(Dec 15, 1925- Apr 26 1993), Gladys Roberta Day (Feb 1928 - March 1998),
Barbara (July 1934 - Nov 2003) and Shirley (Dec. 19, 1936 -present). If you would like to know more I what I know (which isn't much) please reply.
Thanks,
David Marion Day
