I am trying to determine family/parentage of Ellie C./Ella C. Hewitt, born Genoa, Cayuga, New York April 1860, married Barclay F. (Fremont) Samson/Sampson, son of Barclay Samson/Sampson and Nancy L. Turk.
I see Ellie C. in 1870 Census for Genoa in home of Samuel Hewitt and wife, Maria, and son Augustus. Is Augustus or Samuel her father? Is Samuel's ancestry known?
