Hi Lonnie: Can't tell you about Ezekiel, but at least one premise about the Hewitts is not correct. William and Mary (Hansford) Hewitt were married sometime before Mary Hansford's father, Thomas Hansford was hung for being part of Bacon's Rebellion, in the 1670s. This was well before your Ezekiel was born.
William Hewitt, who may be a son of William Hewitt Sr. (c.1735-c.1816)and wife Tacey Wilkinson (c.1735-c.1810) was probably born sometime in the 1760s, as John Hewitt (a known son of William Sr.) was born 1761 in VA. William & Mary Hewitt are mentioned in Franklin Co., GA land records; in one instance a land deed between them and Joseph & Anna (Hewitt) Terrell is cited. The younger William may be a brother to Anna (Hewitt) Terrell. We do not know William's wife Mary's maiden name.
