I have a Johann Christoph Hartung, b. 1745 in Hannover Prussia, who married Christina Margarite KNOKEN. They had a son Johann Heinrich, who married Maria Catharine Walter. Their son was Johann Christoph Lorenz Hartung, who married Maria Dorothea Rieckmann. All this was in the Weende, Luneburgh, Hannover, and Gross Schwupler regions. Johann C.L. and his wife had a son--maybe there was a Johann...but the one I am tracking was Christian Ludwig Hartung, born 7 Jan. 1844 in Gross Schwulpler. He came to the U.S. He died on 13 Nov. 1929 in Seattle, King Co., WA. He was my great-grandfather and owned a meat market on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle. His wife was Louise Dorothea HAEFKE from Perleburg, Prussia. If any of this sounds familiar, let me know.
