I was happy to receive your letter on the Harbours. I set up the account for my wife and used the name shoshona since we both use Gen Forum. I think that John was the son of Calloway. Since Calloway was as old as he was when he left for the war, it would not have been out of character for a sympathetic army surgeon to have written a report on his death in order to excuse him from further duty in hard campaigning that could have really been fatal for a man of his age, and bad health conditions. No one seems to know when Calloway really died if he did not die in 1862 in Monroe Parrish Louisiana as his military records indicate.
I would like to hear more of what you have found. Especially on Serena Harbour, as I know next to nothing about her after Calloway makes his mysterious disappearance. I do have a photo that is reputed to be Serena Harbour. I believe that I received these photos from a great grand daughter of Fanny Hall of Sweet Home, Lavaca County. But that was some years bacl. One of the men in a copy of a tin type is unidentified. Sometimes I wonder if that man could be Calloway. I have several photos of William M. Harbour, who was Mary Elizabeth's brother, and very likely was John Harbours brother. I would be very happy to exchange some photos with you if you are agreeable to that. Maybe you would know something about some of the unidentified Harbours in my photos.
