Ham -Fowler Connection in ILLINOIS
Posted by: Susan Long (ID *****0006) Date: December 21, 2006 at 06:13:37

I have a problem & am hoping someone can help.

My great grandfather was John William Ham; born 6/13/1849 in Jefferson County, IL.

His death certificate - which was filled out by my grandfather; his son-in-law; states that his father was:
John Ham, born in ILLINOIS and his mother was Nancy Jane (or JONES) FOWLER born in ILLINOIS.

The family search website has his parents as: William J. Ham & Elizabeth Fowler. The record for this website is a church membership record, and my grandfather was a member of the mormon church.

In the 1830 Franklin County census is a James Fowler & a Elijah Fowler living next to Moses Ham, who is possibly the father of William Ham.

In the 1840 census is William Ham living next door to a Joseph Fowler.

I am trying to determine the correct parents & grandparents for William or John Ham & Nancy or Elizabeth Fowler.

Thanks for any leads you may be able to provide & Merry Christmas.
