Jean-Baptiste Guyon

A Jean-Baptiste Guyon was taken prisoner in Boston, Ma. in the early 1700s and in retaliation a group of French soldiers and Indians attacked Deerfield, Ma. and marched those who survived back to Montreal. Does anyone have info. on this Jean Guyon? Also, why did some of the Guyon descendants change or add to the surname....Dion ? Boston claimed Jean-Baptist was a " Pirate of the worst sort".
