MELBA ANDERSON GREGORY, 92, of Memphis, passed away, September 27, 2008, at her home following a long illness. She was born on September 13, 1916, in Memphis, TN, the daughter of Henry Courts Anderson and Ruby Cullins Anderson. Melba graduated from Central High School and Draughons Business College. Melba married LeRoy Gregory, originally from Saltillo, MS, at Idlewild Presbyterian Church in 1953. She retired in 1973 after 31 years as an executive secretary for the Federal Aviation Administration. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years, as well as an active member of the LLL seniors group there. Melba was preceded in death by her husband.
She leaves her sister, Norma Jean Long and her husband Charles A. Long of Memphis; three nephews, Allan Long of Memphis, Charles Long and his wife LeAnn of Germantown, Kerry Long of Fisherville; and six great-nieces and great-nephews, Charlie, Kristin, Kelly, Tyler, Carter and Samantha Long.
