The Butler Co OH has much info re: GREGORY families.
Butler Co OH has much information on line but I cannot find a connection to the SAMUEL GREGORY listed in the following Rev. War application:

28 Oct 1834 Butler County, Ohio:
"SAMUEL GREGORY, 73 years, vol Dec 1779 VA militia under Capt. Robt. McCREARY and marched to WARWICK's fort on the head waters of Green Briar River in the then Co of Augusta in the State of VA...he again returned to his residence in the county of Rockbridge where he remained until in December 1780 and that he was then called out under Gen. Muhlenbrugh, Col. SAMPSON MATTHEWS in the Virginia militia...
Deponent states that he has no record of age, as aforesaid, and was born in the County of Augusta, Virginia; has lived in the county of Butler Ohio for 39 years last past where he still resides....
