Hello Kathleen, Thanks for the info. I am not acquainted with stevemorse.org white pages. I am beginning to think either dad and his brothers were stowaways and/or they used a different surname or a spelling of it. Their surname and Greek names were the same on all Greek church records in Omaha,NE. where they attended church in earlier years and where they had their children baptized. Dad's (Louis Ellis Poulos) Greek name was Elias Eliopoulos and his brother Ioannes (john) Eliopoulos and Constantine Eliopoulos (Gust Poulos) all had Toporista, Greece as their home. Their father was Petros (Peter) Eliopoulos and their mother's maiden name was Aikaterina Zafiropoulos. Supposedly they all came to America to stay with their relatives in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Omaha, Ne. area. None of them spoke English very well, so their names could have been misquoted on records. Also John was supposed to have travelled with each brother on their trip to the USA between 1900 and 1920. However, John returned to Greece sometime in the 1930's and 1940's never to come back. I feel like I am so close but I have been searching for over ten years now and I'm about to just give up. Everyone on this forum have been so great ---You Included--that I will continue for a little while longer. Thanks ever so much for your help. I really appreciate it.
