Kathleen thank you for the information. I had found the 1907 manifest of Nicolaos. It looked like he was going to see family in New York and that Alexandra is his cousin. Could not make out the family name in New York too well looked like Doukas, Doukay, Dauche. Grandfather never really learned much english and as far as my mother knows there was no other family in the states but she did say that was about the time Nicolaos came to the states. My father died when I was young so what we know is very limited. The key to finding anything i believe lies with the Verikokos family if we can find my cousin or his kids. We are pretty sure he had 2 children.
The Verikokos you listed, is that the home phone #. Is he in Athens? I have a friend in Greece who called the home number in Athens several times and no one has answered. Is there an address where we could write to the home? My friend translated the one letter my sister could find so we know the Sozon is correct, but the Verikokos is what she thought she remembered as the last name. She wrote to them when she was 16 and taking some Greek lessons.
I have been looking and gathering info for the last 6 years off and on and I have some neices who are now very interested in our Greek heritage also.
