I haven't found the answer either, although I have had the same question since I saw Edward Gerrish mentioned at the museum at the site of the Boston Massacre (the Old State House). My guess is some relation to Samuel Gerrish of Corn Hill, a publisher and printer, who if memory serves me (which it often doesn't!) married a daughter of Samuel Sewall and was the son of Rev. Joseph of Wenham. In any case, I too am curious about this Gerrish who obviously, and seemingly provocatively, help throw a spark of the tinder of the American Revolution!
