I looked in an old family Bible that we have and discovered an entry under "marriages." Elijah Pierce Foster, Jr., and Eva Stockwell, married on the aforementioned date. So the book was a wedding gift from Elijah's mother.
Now I'm curious about the Stockwells. I know nothing about Eva except her name and the date of her marriage to Elijah. I'll have to start researching that.
