Steven, Here's some further information gathered over the years from a variety of lovely people who's names got lost in a data file transfer several years ago (sorry to everyone if I offend): WIlliam Gerrish: Called "Captain". He first settled in Newbury, MA where he married Joanna. They had a total of 10 children, (Libby, 258). After Joanna's death he moved to Boston and there married Ann, (Old Kittery, 443). He later moved to Salem, MA where he died. Libby also states that he was a selectman in Hampton, NH in 1663 and their Rep in 1663-64.(Newbury VRs to the end of the Year 1849, II:19) Fact 2: Representative to the Gen Court 1650-54 Fact 3: First Captain of Military Troop in Newbury Fact 4: 7th Great Grandfather of G. Thurber Fact 5: Owner No. 3 Long Wharf Boston 1678-86 Fact 6: Rep for Hampton 1663-1664 1. - In England was said to have been educated in the mercantile house of Percival Lowle & Co. 2. - Settled in Newbury, MA 1639 (see Coffin's history of Newbury, MA) 3. - First Captain of the military band 4. - Representative 1650-54 5. - Moved to Boston in 1678 where he owned the No. 3 Long Wharf 6. - On the semi-centennial anniversary meeting of the town of Boston 14 March 1686 he said the opening and closing prayers 7. - Died at son Benjamin's house in Salem on 9 Aug 1687 Hope this helps.
