I am trying to sort out my confusing family. We seem be a mysterious bunch. I am on this forum hoping to find an answer to one mystery.
My Grandmother MINNIE PUGH born 20 April,1899,Calcasieu parish,La. D/O JOHN PUGH and SINA CLARK married JULIAN DOIRON born about 1899 Calcasieu parish,La.S/O EDOURARD DOIRON and MARY ELLEN OZAN
MINNIE and JULIAN had three children
WOODROW WILSON born 21 DEc.,1919Hayes,Calcasieu parish,La.
HELEN GENEVIEVE (my mother)born 15 Oct.,1921 Vinton,Calcasieu parish,La.
BARBARA ANN born 15 May,1924 Vinton,Calcasieu parish,La.
AT some point JULIAN and MINNIE divorced (or he died )
I don't know what happened to him.I do know that my mother never knew him.
at about the age of 18 my uncle WOODROW changed his name to DUHON. My question is why did he pick DUHON? In my research I came across DOIRONS and DUHONS living in the same household together on the 1920 census for Cameron parish,La..When I asked my moms cousin She said AUNT DONNIE made him do it(LEEDONIA SINGLTON my grandmother Minie's half sister).AUNT DONIE was married to a man named AUTHUR BURLESON. I have found BURLESONS and DUHONS married to each other.I have also found DUHONS and ABSHIRES married to each other in Vermillion parish,La..ROSALIE ABSHIRE was my grandmother MINNIE PUGH'S G.G.Grandmother.I hope somebody might some insight into this mystery.
Thank You
Sandra Rice Valdez
