David Dow in IL

I am the great-great granddaughter of David L. Dow who was born in IL in 1831 and moved to TN sometime between 1853 and 1860. I believe he is the son of David Dow who was married to Apphia Sandborn, Unknown, Jane Lincoln, and Cordellia Hull Gillett; however,I cannot find a direct link other than David L's death certificate lists his father as David Dow and his mother as ? Hull. I have seen a posting dated in 1999 on this forum which mentions a biographical sketch of David L. Dow. Can anyone help me?
