I'm looking for a James Parker Dow, who only appears in a census of Albion, Maine in 1870 with his new bride, Susan Lovina Belden of Palermo, Maine (he was 19, she 17) - and they are my greatgrandparents. My grandfather (who died when I was only about 9 months old) told several family members that James was from Chelsea, Massachusetts, but I haven't found James in any Massachusetts or Maine records. He would have been born apx. 1850 and died in February 1876 (in Vassalboro, Maine).
It's a long shot, but does he appear in anything you have?
