My grandfather, Charles H. Dow, had a younger sister named Ella May, (b. June 10, 1875 in Palermo) who is noted in all the family photos of her as "Nellie". The Book of Dow notes her birthdate as being 1876 and that she was last known to be living in Massachusetts in 1923, but as a family bible points out that the birth year Robert P. Dow gives is incorrect, I have to wonder about the second part of the info as well. (Robert P. also notes my grandfather as the second child when he was the eldest and gives the name Fred B. for my grandfather's brother. My research shows both a Fred A. and a Fred B. from different branches of the family in the Palermo area, but Fredora isn't either of these and no middle name is listed in the bible.)
A photo my cousin recently sent me lists the subjects as "Aunt Nellie Orcutt, George Orcutt, Susan L. Jones (holding) Thelma Orcutt". The photo is undated, but the clothing appears to be from the early 1920's. A letter sent to Cheryl Nelson Belden (who married into the family of one of Susan's siblings) suggests that Nellie may have taught school in either Massachusetts or New York.
