I show a Charles Wesley De Lap b 10 May 1829, Edgar Co., IL, d 17 Jan 1864, Franklin, Vernon Co., WI, m 22 Apr 1849, Sterling Town, Vernon Co., WI: Harriett Gleason Drake, b 3 Jul 1829, Weston, Oneida Co., NY, d 11 May 1912, Franklin, Vernon Co., NY, with six children, one being Jeanette D. De Lap, b 1 jan 1859, m 23 Oct 1874 to Aaron Glass,

I have information on Jeanette's ancestry back to the 1700s in New England, but no further. I received much of this (side of the De Laps) from Louise Janet (Humke) who married
another descendant of Charles Wesley De Lap:Kenneth Charles De Lap, in Viroqua, Vernon Co., WI when I visited there in 1996. Dr. Kenneth De Lap (dentist) had already passed on but she hosted us and took us on a tour of cemeteries, etc., but she also has died since then. She was activiely trying to get information on the family.

My connection to the De Laps is through my mother who connects back further yet. I found myself fourth cousin to the Viroqua De laps. My grandfather Charles Ransom De Lap was born there but came to California and then Oregon in the 1870s.
