DeLap or DeLapp to Lappan?

I would be interested to know if anyone has, in their family tree, any Lappan's? It is believed that at some point the Delap name was altered to Lappan, Lappin, Lappen, etc. My family is from Armagh Co., Ireland. Furthest back I can trace is to James Lappan, born abt. 1834. He married a Mary Quigley. If any one may have any information it would be appreciated.
