Debbie, Do you have the birth place of your Daniel? My gg-gf was John Marion Dean b 1831 in Ga. But...according to family lore, he lived in Alabama. We can find no record of him or his family in Ga or Al. He married in La in 1858 and from there forth we have records. Census records are all we have to go on. They say parents b in SC. No sibs, no parents. Some say his father was a John, also. He named a son Franklin. Can you connect to any of that?
