I've been studying my Whitehead line for the past few days and have a few comments and invite discussion. Lots of folks report that Nathan Whitehead (ca. 1719- 1778) married Rachel/Rahab Culpepper. I think he married Rachel, last name unknown and that Rahab Culpepper married his son Nathan Jr. Rachel and Rahab were not the same person. Nathan's will names his widow as Rachel. Rachel Whitehead is shown on the 1790 Nash County census as head of household after Nathan's death. Rahab Culpepper Whitehead was supposed to have died in 1815 in Wake County and left a will, but I haven't checked that out yet. She is listed on the DAR index as the widow of Nathan Whitehead who had Rev. War service. Nathan Whitehead Sr. would have been too old for service, but Nathan Jr. would have been the right age. I invite comments. Regards, Drew Notify Administrator about this message?
