Hello. I've been looking through the archives of the CROSBY List and Boards, and I'm not finding any postings about the Anthony CROSBY living in Rowley, MA, in the 1600's. I have the "Simon CROSBY book" which mentions the patriarch, Simon CROSBY, and his 3 sons, Thomas, Simon, and Joseph, and then mentions his father, Thomas, who came over to help settle his son's estate. Thomas had adopted his grandson, Anthony, and they both settled in Rowley, MA. From the book, I can offer this information: Dr. Anthony CROSBY died in Rowley, intestate, and was buried there Jan. 1672/3. He had married in Rowley to Prudence WADE in 1659. She had been born in Ipswich, MA, to Jonathan and Susanna WADE. Children included: Thomas, b1660 -- settled in Hampton, NH, where he was employed as a schoolteacher for several years. He m. about 1686 to Deborah _____. Several children were born in Hampton, NH: Hannah, Abigail, Prudence, Jonathan, Mehetabel, Elizabeth, Jonathan, and Samuel. Jonathan, b1663/4, d. 1664 Jonathan, b1665 -- removed to York, Maine. (Further history untraced.) Nathaniel, b1666/7 d. young Nathaniel, b1668, resided in Rowley. He m. Elizabeth BENNETT in 1693. ** Just curious if anyone is researching this family. I continue to look for the parents of Simeon CROSBY who married in Cambridge, MA, in 1787.
