I am attempting to seek information past 1880 for my great grandfather's sister, Margaret Ellen Mumaugh (b 1850, OH), who married William Crosby in 1875 in Van Wert Co, OH. They resided in Plainwell, Allegan Co, MI according to several records that were not from Allegan Co. I found a William Crosby and his wife 'Ella' in the 1880 census in Allegan Co, MI. However, the birth places for Ella and her parents just aren't correct (which I know isn't proof positive of anything). I have also found the same(?) Ella in subsequent census records in Michigan, through 1930 when Ella Crosby was residing with her daughter, Lena Sackett, in Detroit. Somehow, I wonder if any of these census records are for the correct folks. A Sackett web page calls Lena's mother, Ella Pike.
Can anyone set me straight on what happened to William Crosby and Margaret Ellen Mumaugh? According to her father's estate papers in 1897, she did live in Plainwell, MI.
