I have the Dictionaire Biographique de Nord-Est Nouveau Brunswick. It has Alexander Cowan son of Thomas Cowan and Margaret, b. 1823 m. Brigette Quirck b. 15 Feb 1835
Children:
Hugh m. 24 Feb 1884 Anna Barry
John b. 1 Nov 1857
William b. 20 Jun 1865
James b. 16 Oct 1880 m. 11 Sep 1916 Annie Sewell
Mary m. 17 Apr 1884 Robert Rivers

He had brothers Margaret, Thomas and Donald.

One of Thomas Cowan's daughter's married Joseph Wilson and that is my line.
