I am a Coonrod and my father's family lived in Denison Texas and the area around it from the time of the Civil War until my dad left for Oklahoma in the late 1930s. His grandfather was Thomas Jefferson Coonrod and one of my dad's brothers was named Cecil Coonrod. This could be significant but one would need to know where in Texas you think your family came from--it's a big place. In the case of my ancestor Thomas Jefferson Coonrod, I'm pretty certain none of his siblings migrated to Texas. Most of the family at that time was in Kansas. Don
