Hello

So; Where is the mistake ?

I have spent nearly 15 years trying to either prove or disprove Oliver’s letter.. During that time I have been able to confirm and document several points of Oliver’s letter, but I have not yet been able to disprove any of it. So, when I first seen your message saying that Oliver’s letter was mistaken, I was so excited
I thought that finally some one has found something to disprove Oliver’s letter and maybe even prove that our Oliver Coonrod was related to the Ulrick Conrad line as your message suggested and several other sources have claimed and recorded.

After e-mailing you and finding out that you didn’t have any documentation to tie our Oliver Coonrod to the Ulrick Conrad line, I though I would take another look at your version of the Ft. Seybert story too; "The Dyer Settlement, The Fort Seybert Massacre". The first thing to catch me eye was the 1937 date on Dyer Family version of the story. So, I just had to ask myself that age old question “ Which came first, the egg or the chicken ? “

I find it very hard to believe or understand how a family history letter written by Oliver Coonrod in 1917 could be a spin off from the Roger Dyer Family Association book titled "The Dyer Settlement, The Fort Seybert Massacre", and published in 1937.

Did you see, or find, anything other than the Dyer Family book that made you think that Oliver’s letter is mistaken ?

Thanks and God Bless
Rufus
