There is a marriage bond for a Philip Kline and Polly Featherling,1799, in Frederick Co., VA. The groom signed his name Philip Cline. That may be too late for your man, but perhaps it was a second marriage.

My Clines passed through Pickaway and finally settled in Jefferson Co., Iowa. Henry Cline's daughter Sarah Ann (Nancy) married Wm. Henry Griffith 1847 in Pickaway, Iowa.
We've "lost" two William Clines--one the father of Henry, the other a son. Neither stayed with Henry's nuclear family, so I suspect there are other relatives out there of whom I am not aware.
