Kris,

We have Clines that came from New York to Peoria County. We have also discovered that their name was orginally spelled Klein and sometimes Kline.
The family came from Germany to the Copake, New York area and then moved to the Oswego County and surrounding counties in New York. Later generations in the 1830's to 1840's moved to the Illinois paririe land with pensions and grants from military service in either the Revoluation War, War of 1812 or Mexican War.
Our line comes from Conrad Klien who was a Capt in the Revoluation War and came to this country from Germany. He was married twice and has childern from both wives. Some of the family lived and died in the Schoharie Co, Oswego County, Ontario County, NY area and others moved to Illinois.
I am just not sure where your John Cline is the tree. We do have a John Cline son of Conrad born in 1896 in NY that moved to Illiois.
Joni
