Morgan L. Calkins, son of Captain Daniel and Tabitha Calkins, was born in Aurelius, Cayuga Co., NY, in 1821, and came to Castile, Wyoming Co.,NY in 1824. In 1844 he was married to Miss CYNTHIA AMES, daughter of John and Polly Ames, of Castile, Wyoming Co.,NY, who died in 1872 aged fifty-one years. In 1874 Mr. Calkins married Miss MARY GREGG, daughter of Robert and May Gregg, of Castile, Wyoming Co., NY. They have two sons. Mr. Calkins has been justice of the peace since 1876.
