SC BUXTON or is it BURTON

For 35 years I've been looking for the parents of my Jeremiah BURTON, b:1814 - 1818 in SC. Both parents b: SC. I've considered the possibility of Jacob BURTON/BUXTON RWS being Jeremiah's grandfather, but this is all I have on Jacob BURTON/BUXTON. Perhaps you can get back to me with your thoughts or other findings.

Did this Jacob leave a Will in the Abbeville District of SC in 1782?

7-20-2006 - I called Probate in Abbeville Co., SC, spoke with "Karen" who was very patient, kind, & helpful. Jacob BURTON was indexed with no date - and as an "administration". Not found. Abbeville Co. houses all the old, old papers. Should have no need to look in other counties that may have been a part of Abbeville District at one time. gb

I need to go to Abbeville Co. to see if perhaps this might be indexed under BUXTON, etc. gb

If this is the Jacob BURTON in the RW, then we can assume his children were out of the hh. In this same census is a Benjamin BURTON, presumably a son.
