I am looking for any information about my grandfather, John Oswald Boothby. Born on Dec. 20, 1903 in NewSleaford, UK; father: John Willie Boothby; mother: Alice Drury; brother: Stanley. A mate in the Navy, he married Elsie May Elmes in Portsmouth May 16, 1925. Then married my grandmother, Mary Helen Kelly, in New York around 1931-33. Lived in New York and California in the US, then Montreal & Halifax in Canada. Returned to England around 1942-43. Enlisted with the RAF in Durham. Believed to have married Florence Margaret Loan on March 28, 1945, at which time he lists Glasgow as his residence and chief officer in the merchant navy as his occupation. Any hints, clues, or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
