St. Charles (Illinois) Chronicle, Jan. 15, 1909 Former Pioneer Citizen is Dead Hamilton Blanchard who died recently was for over sixty years a resident of ST. Charles. Mr. Blanchard was born at Henderson Harbor, Jefferson county, New York, July 24th, 1824. In 1837 he came with his parents and brothers and sisters to St. Charles, settling soon after upon the farm two and a half miles north west of town, which was his home for so many years. He was married in 1851 to Miss Julia Peterson to which union five children were born, four of whom are living. Mrs. Blanchard died in 1875 and a daughter, Mrs. St. Claire, in 1886. The other children are John Blanchard of Oklahoma; Mrs. Andrew Gulig of New Dennison; Mrs. N.H. Anderson of Puyallup, Washington; and A.H. Blanchard Jr. of Carbondale, Colorado. About the year 1901 he sold his farm and went with his son, A.H. Blanchard, to Oklahoma and later to Carbondale, Colorado, at which place he lived until his death, which occurred December 24, 1908. ----------- I am not related to nor researching this family and have no further information.
