Pat my sign-in apparently is messed up so I think I was alamohouse now pegfisk.........!? I received an email from you-glad to have your new email etc as I consider you the guru of Blanchards.... RE: ALVA Blanchard b. 1805 and d. 1835 and married to Jane Eggleston in New York........... I did a little "look-see" in US Census (heaven knows I have looked at all Blanchards and Jacobs in NY State as still stuck on seeking Parents of John Jacobs born Upstate NY 1827 but his grave says 1821?) married to Louisa Blanchard-thankfully tied her in to William Blanchard, Chazy, Essex Co NY and her mother side to LaFrambouise (angelized to Raspberry?!)family)...in Upstate and in and out of Canada during war of 1812 era. Back to Alva Blanchard born 1805 in Wayne Co, NY State There was no Wayne County, NY until 1830!census...Believe the area was all ONTARIO county, NY State. The reason I immediately picked up on it was that I was actually born in Sodus, Wayne County, NY and US census is showing Blanchards in Sodus, Ontario County, N.Y. in 1810 and 1820. I still did not find an Alva Blanchard...but there are lots of Blanchards with sons born in 1810 census (under 10 or age 0-9 years old and loads of Egglestons in the same counties?!(not sure of Jane age, etc. but females the same age (under 10) in the Eggleston families in the "immediate area.) So prior to 1830 US census they would be in Ontario Co? Notice a ton of Blanchards and Eggleston in Bloomfield, Ontario Co, NY-not sure where all the towns ended up ie which County......where you see Sodus, NY it is now Wayne Co and I just found a Wayne county town now in Genesseo Co? NY State geno site has wonderful histories of County changes in fact in my endless search to document John Jacobs parents found there used to be a Chateugay Co in Upstate............hope this helps. There is a 1810 "Marven? Blanchard in Sodus, "Ontario Co", N.Y.-after looking at actual census records,I think might actually be Abeather(Abither?) who shows in 1800 in White hall, Washington Co, NY???? So Sodus in 1805 was in Ontario but now in Wayne (ie if Alva was born in Sodus in 1805 he was born in Ontario Co, but when he died he if he was in that area Alva was in Wayne Co, NY............ Have you tried researching NY State censuses? ps when I had to sign in again, I punched in Alva Blanchard search and they presented MANY resources for Alva but I am not a subscriber/member of Genealogy.com so I could not access them....Google NY State Geno and hopefully Ontario/Wayne history is explained??? I will take another crack at it if you can't resolve......... I just finalized my FISK(e) roots and ironically working in Arcadia, Wayne county......... Pat, thank you for all your help to self and others, if I have helped in any way let me know how you did -guessing you have family names, etc that I do not? peg aka alamohouse Notify Administrator about this message?
