" The Shepherdstown Register " newspaper, Shepherdstown, Jefferson County, WV.

Sat. Oct 14, 1871

The Black Trial. - The case of Harrison G. Black, on charge of shooting W. W. McKaig, of Cumberland, with an intent to Kill, has been removed here for trail, and will come up, we understand this week. Mr. Black is the father of Harry Crawford Black, who was tried here for killing McKaig, and now the father is to be tried for attempting to kill the same man. Mr. Whitney, of Baltimore, we learn, will assist in the prosecution. - Frederick Examiner.

** I think I sw somewhere else that the shooting happened in Cumberland, Md., over a situation with a woman of the Black family.
