I found a genforum post from someone who mentioned that Adam Black from Lexington/Orangeburgh area b 1756 m Rosina Crout/Kraut came to the US with brothers through Pennsylvania . I would really like to know if anyone has any info on this or knows where this info originated. Here is a copy of the post. It is very so I am starting a new post old - 2004-2005. "On-line quote from Vicki Anderson Black:

"The family legend says that Adam Black and 2 of his brothers came to America from Germany. They traveled on the ship Edinburgh from Amsterdam on September 19, 1752 and landed in Pennsylvania. They were German Jews and of the Mennonite faith. In America, they changed their name to Black and their religion to Lutheran. One brother settled in Maryland, brother Solomon's line settled in Virginia, and brother Adam went to North Carolina."

I am also looking for information regarding the story that his name was originally Schwartz.
